NC said in OWAISI’s “Adoption of Kashmiris” statement, good opportunity to reduce trust deficits

Srinagar: Saturday’s national meeting endorsed Aimim MP Asaduddin Owaisi’s statement, urging the centre to “adopt” the Kashmir people in the face of Pakistan’s terrorism, saying it was a good opportunity to reduce the “trust deficit”.

However, Jamu and Kashmir’s ruling party claimed that the Kashmir Post’s support was that the April 22 Pahargam terrorist attack “had no recurrence”, while Kashmiris living in other parts of the country were harassed.

NC State spokesman Imran Nabi Dar said: “After the attack, people really supported any step in the Indian government to avenge the killing. Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, who represents the will of the people, is saying so.”

Owaisi spoke about the spontaneous protests in Kashmir in a speech to Pakistan-sponsored terrorism in a video interview with PTI.

The fifth Hyderabad MP said: “In fact, for Prime Minister Modi, this is a historical opportunity for the government, for the interior minister Amit Shah. They should take advantage of this opportunity correctly. You should definitely face Pakistan, but you should also adopt Kashmiris.”

Owaisi was asked to elaborate on his meaning by adopting the Kashmiris, saying that the government should ensure there are no rights to human rights violations there, “they should be granted the rights and Kashmiris students should not be attacked in other parts of the country”.

“It should be done all of this. Don’t leave the Kashmiris to their destiny. Adopt them,” Owasi said.

Dahl’s reaction to the remarks said: “Yes, it’s necessary to adopt Kashmiris. This is the best time to reduce the trust deficit. If they reply back and forth, it will reduce a lot, but they are not rewarding in a good way.”

He said the protests by the Kashmir people against the Pahalgam attack were real emotions.

“It’s an organic protest. The government tried to manage the protests, but it was the first time there was a real emotional overflow. It was spontaneous and as a political party, we also have support from religious and trade organizations.”

He claimed: “But unfortunately, the Indian government has not paid back. We have witnessed hate crimes against Kashmiris…the silence of Goy following the Pahargam attack.”

The “most unfortunate” aspect, he said, was that no union minister came to Kashmir to meet people affected by the shelling”, which should have sent a very good and positive message to the country, and a very good and positive message to the Kashmiris.
