“As the favorable report provided by Jharkhand CWC and the Gauchi City Police, we will initiate the process to hand over the custody of the child. Although Nidhi’s parents were in the city last month, they had to return to Jharkhand and then meet the children who stayed in the nursery in the city. However, before coming to the city, they almost managed to see the children due to video conferences arranged by the police.
Nidhi moved from Ernakulam General Hospital (GH) to nursery after being considered healthy enough in April. Her mother gave birth to her premature childbirth only 28 weeks after her pregnancy and then disappeared on January 29. Since then, she has gone from an anaemia baby weighing only 950 grams to a relatively healthy baby weighing more than 2.50 kg.
On January 29, when the train arrived at Ernakulam, Nidhi’s mother was taken to GH after labor pains while she and her husband were heading to Jharkhand. They work at a fish farm in Kotayam. Shortly after delivery, the baby was transferred to a private hospital in the city for professional care. However, the mother disappeared shortly after she was discharged from the hospital. The baby is then transferred back to GH.
