Eight workers get sick due to ammonia leak

Eight workers reportedly fell ill after leaks at a shrimp processing plant in Ananthapuram village in SPSR Nellore district on Saturday. However, this situation was under control within a few hours.

According to locals, ammonia leaked in the water-based company’s computer room. When the alarm sounded, the staff ran out of boots with gums. They were caught in panic and were taken to the hospital.

The company representative told the Telugu (TDP) leader who visited the plant: “First aid was provided and everyone was fine.

Sarvepalli MLA Somieddy Chandramohan Reddy asked about the gas leaks in officials and TDP leaders. He was told that the impact of gas leakage was small and it was limited to factories and that ordinary people had no problems.

Nellore Rdo Naga Santosh Anusha has collected full details of the incident from officials in the tax and police department. “There was a slight gas leak in the shrimp processing plant compound. Management immediately carried out the repairs,” she said.

RDO condemned reports on social media about workers’ deaths, “The factory is in normal condition and there is no need to panic. I ask the people of the area to not believe any rumors. There is no loss of life.”
