Nemmeli seawater desalination plant pipeline taken from shore

Four days ago, a huge pipeline at the Nemmeli desalination plant was finally removed on Saturday.

Fishing community leader MD Dayalan said the nearly 1km-long pipeline pushed it to the shore with strong tides and wave action. He added that efforts should be made to anchor the pipeline correctly and that due to such incidents, fishermen always object to projects at the front of the beach.

Councilman Ward said five ships towed the pipeline back to the sea on Saturday night.
