Nepalese female student found dead in dormitory at Odisha University

Bhubaneswar: A tragic incident occurred Thursday night at Kiit University in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, where a female student from Nepal was found dead in her hotel room.
Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Police Commissioner S Dev Datta Singh said preliminary information and circumstances indicate that this is a suicide case. The body was reportedly found in a women’s hotel on the university campus.
Although the university has not officially stated or confirmed the identity of the student, sources revealed that the deceased was Prisha Shah, a man from Birganj, Nepal, and a first-year B-Tech student at the institution.
Local Infacity police are currently investigating the matter. The student’s body was found hanging on the ceiling fan in her hotel room, according to reports. A scientific team led by Indian Police (IPS) officials arrived at the hotel around 10 p.m. to conduct a live investigation.
This marks the second incident involving university Nepal students this year. On February 16, third-year B-Tech student Prakriti Lamsal also died in her hotel room.
As of the latest update, KIIT University has not issued an official statement on the matter.
