Nirmala Sitharaman arrives in San Francisco for five days to visit the United States

San Francisco: Alliance Treasury Secretary Nirmala Sitharaman arrived at San Francisco International Airport on Sunday (local time), and she plans to visit the United States from April 20 to 25.

Upon arrival, Indian Ambassador to the United States, Vinay Mohan Kwatra, and Srikar Reddy Koppula, Consul General of India, San Francisco.

“Union Secretary of Finance and Corporate Affairs Nirmala Sitharaman was welcomed on his arrival on his official visit to the United States. The Treasury Department wrote on X.

During a two-day stay in San Francisco that began on April 20, Sitharaman will give a keynote address at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University in San Francisco, which read “The Foundation Lays the Foundation for the Foundation for Viksit Bharat 2047 and then conducts a Fireside Chat conference.

She will also interact with senior CEOs from well-known fund management companies at a roundtable with investors, and also held a bilateral meeting with CEOs of top information technology (IT) companies based in San Francisco.

She will also participate in events featuring the Indian diaspora of San Francisco and interact with the Indian community who settled there.

From April 22 to 25, during a visit to Washington, DC, Sitharaman will attend the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Spring Meeting and the World Bank, the 2nd G20 Secretary of the Exchequer and the Governor of the Central Bank (FMCBG) Meeting (FMCBG) Meeting, Development Commission, IMFC Plenary Meeting and the Global Sovereign Sovereign Debt Return (GSDR) Meeting (GSDR).

Off the court, Sitharaman will hold a bilateral meeting with colleagues from several countries including Argentina, Bahrain, Germany, France, Luxembourg, Saudi Arabia, the United Kingdom and the United States.

She will also meet with the EU Financial Services Commissioner; President of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), President of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), Special Advocate for Financial Health of the United Nations Secretary-General (UNSGSA) and First Deputy Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
Following her visit to the United States, Sitharaman will travel to Peru from April 26 to 30 to attend her virgin visit.
