New Honda Rebel 500 bikes cost Rs 512 crore

Pune: Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) on Monday introduced the premium motorcycle lineup of the long-awaited Rebel 500 cruiser bikes in India, priced at Rs 51.2 lakh from Gurugram showrooms.

Delivery will begin in June 2025.

It competes with the Royal Enfield Shot Gun 650, Super Meteor 650 and Kawasaki Elimination 500 in the competitive motorcycle market.

The Honda Rebel 500 is the brand’s view of the 500cc float, and the higher price is due to the rebels being imported into the country, attracting higher responsibilities. But the Rebels 500 still cut the NX500 by Rs 78,000, and its direct rival The Kawasaki Eleminator 500 reduced the NX500 by Rs 64,000.

Honda Rebel’s classic cruiser design features low seats, a high-mounted fuel tank and wide handlebars. It has a round headlight and a single pod instrument console.

Powered by a 471cc, liquid-cooled, dual-wire engine, the Rebel 500 produces 45.59 bhp and 43.3 nm of torque. The engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox.

The suspension setup on the Rebel 500 includes a conventional telescope fork at the rear and a double impact absorber. The brakes are handled by the front 296mm disc and the rear 240mm disc and are supported by the dual-channel ABS.

Tsutsumu Otani said: “We are delighted to introduce the world-renowned Rebel 500 in India. This highly anticipated cruiser motorcycle has received a huge response in the international market and we are confident it will attract Indian riders as well.”

He boasted that the Rebel 500 is more than just a motorcycle, it is a statement of style, performance and freedom, with its unique design, powerful performance and engineering that Honda can trust.
