Rameswaram: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will open here at noon Sunday, where rail links between the mainland and Rameswaram Island are provided. This will improve connectivity with spiritual destinations that have influx of devotees across the country and beyond.
PM will remotely operate the bridge’s vertical lift mechanism and hang it at the inauguration of Rameswaram-Tambaram Express and the Coast Guard, marking the opening ceremony of the new Pamban Bridge and its vertical lift span, the first in the country.
He will then visit the world-famous Rameswaram Temple to offer prayers. He will later address a public gathering to formally introduce the host of the Pamban Bridge and National Highway Project to the country. The official event coincides with today’s auspicious occasion for Ram Navami.
