I’ve been on vacation in Australia with my family and can’t believe Woolworths doesn’t sell what you can find in any UK supermarket

A British tourist visiting Perth with her family was surprised during her daily grocery run because she couldn’t find any alcoholic beverages on the shelves.

Tamira, a family video museum behind travel account Thutchinsons, shares her confusion in Tiktok videos after she is in the drink aisle at Woolworths, only to discover a variety of non-alcoholic options.

“I’ve run the drink aisle, which is your alcohol, all zero (percentage). In the UK, you can drink weekly shops,” she said.

In the video, Tamira can be seen checking various brands and pointing to a wide range of zero alcohol options.

She added: “You can get everything here, no wine.”

Obviously not what she is after, she joked, “I don’t have a chance to be in it without g.”

‘Does this mean you don’t drink alcohol in Australia? I’m a little worried.

Many viewers commented, explaining that in Australia, alcohol is sold separately in specialized bottle stores rather than in supermarkets.

“Supermarkets like Coles and Wool don’t sell alcohol. Aldi does, one person explained.

‘About 20 steps outside the store, usually there is BWS or Liquorland. Some even have direct access from within,” another added.

“Almost every Woolworth has a BW nearby, and Coles usually has a liquor column next door,” one-third.

Some people praise the various non-alcoholic choices “As a non-drinker, I like the non-alcoholic beverages they choose.”

Eventually, Tamira and her partner Chris head to the next door to Dan Murphy, where they made many purchases.

Tamira and Chris bought some iconic Australian beers, including Greater North, Victoria Bitter and Carlton Mid.

She also bought some bottles and glittering roses.

The couple was impressed by the price and calculated it as the Big British Pound.

Some commenters say that the price of beverages in Australia is expensive when using only local currencies.

“When you spend money on English, it’s good…when you spend AUD, it’s expensive.”

The family has been traveling around the world and arrived in Perth earlier this month.
