The Bellagarve-based PYAAS Foundation handed over a 150-year-old teacher’s colonial well to the Bellagarve Municipal Corporation (BCC) on April 29.

The Khasbag Mattikop well is considered historic. The structure of the British era provided drinking water to Tilakwadi, Shahapur and Khasbag. However, over the years, it has been abandoned due to neglect.

The PYAAS Foundation restores the well with CSR support from AKP Ferrocasts and Bemco Hydraulics.

It is nearly 30 feet deep and can provide water for up to 1,000 tankers per day. NGOs have occupied plantations around the site.

The NGO handed over the resurrected body of water to Deputy Commissioner Mohammed Roshan in the presence of BCC Commissioner Shubha B.

Mr. Luo Shan ensures cooperation with all the work of the Foundation.

Bemco Ferrocasts and Bemco Hydraulics’ Ram Bhandare and Parag Bhandare were granted their support.

Madhav Prabhu, Chairman of the PYAAS Foundation, outlines the mission of NGOs.
