On Tuesday, two conflicting reports about love and war proposed that one could be postponed, while others claimed the film was scheduled to be released on March 20, 2026.

Love & War, played by Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal and hosted by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, is one of the most anticipated Bollywood releases. The film was announced in January 2024 with a release date of Christmas 2025. However, it was pushed forward, with its new release date announced on March 20, 2026 on the occasion of next year’s Eid-ul-fitr. On Tuesday, April 22, there were two conflicting reports that Love and War could be delayed, while others claimed the film was on track for scheduled releases in March 2026.
Quote a source told Hollywood Reporter India: “The current shooting schedule for Love and War involves a giant war sequence, and Bhansali will be on a huge scale. However, this will only take place in November. After the shooting sequence, it will be epic scale, involving Vicky and Ranbir, involving Vicky and Ranbir, that it is impossible to meet the range on January 202, to the point that it was once January 20, 2026, which will be the range. The big screen may be pushed in two months.”
Another independent source refuted the report and told Zoom: “Love and the War is going on as planned, and the film is going on as planned. There is no discussion about the possible delay in the end of production, so speculation about this nature is completely unfounded.” We will have to wait for the official announcement of the production banner Bhansali Productions to learn about the exact status of the film’s release date.
The drama is the second collaboration between Ranbir Kapoor and Sanjay Leela Bhansali, 19 years since the premiere of “Saawariya”. Love & War is also the second collaboration between Alia Bhatt and Bhansali after Gangubai Kathiawaidi who committed crimes in 2022. This is Vicky Kaushal’s first film, which includes award-winning filmmakers from multiple countries. Love & War will also be the second film of 2022 fantasy action adventure Brahmastra part one: Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt after Shiva.
