VCK, CPI(M) criticizes Edappadi Palaniswami’s alliance rhetoric

Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) and the Communist Party of India (April 9, 2025) criticized AIADMK Secretary-General Edappadi Palaniswami’s remarks on the DMK coalition.

VCK President Thol answered the remarks about Mr. Palaniswami that the DMK’s allies “obey” their political masters and cannot act independently. Thirumavalavan said the AIADMK leaders spoke out of frustration.

Mr. Thirumavalavan alleged that Mr. Palaniswami’s long wait was like “Ilavu Katha Kili” (the parrot waiting in vain) because his expectations for certain alliance partners were separated from the alliance led by DMK. The joining of AIADMK did not achieve AIADMK.

CPI(M) State Secretary P. Shanmugam said in a post on X that Mr Palaniswami’s remarks were that the parties with the DMK would disappear, reflecting his frustration as Noare Prohand is about to form an alliance with AIADMK.

He said that in response to the BJP’s neofascist tendencies, it was a threat to India and Tamil Nadu, political parties including CPI(M) have created a broad-based solidarity, a role model for the entire country.

Mr Shanmugam noted that the recent CPI(M) All India Congress in Madurai created new energy for leftist policies that opposed the BJP and its pro-company policies.

He asked: “Mr. Paraniswami did not notice this.
