Nia questioned the Odisha family, which narrowly escaped the terrorist attack in Pahargam

Bhubaneswar: In a major development related to the recent terrorist attacks in Pahalgam, Jamu & Kashmir, a team from the National Bureau of Investigation (NIA) arrived in Cuttack to question a local family that survived the deadly ambush.

Sources confirmed that at the time of the attack, the NIA interrogated Cuttack resident Ranjit Bhola, as well as his wife, son and daughter woman, who had attracted investigative interest after their presence near the Baisaran Valley.

The Bhola family reportedly took a sightseeing trip in Kashmir and visited the popular Baisaran tourist attractions at the time of the incident. They were reportedly taking photos and videos when a sudden gunfire broke out, causing panic among tourists. Witnesses said the bullet was shot into the air, causing chaos as tourists fled in different directions seeking safety.

A NIA team of three members asked about family members when they returned to Cuttack. Ranjit’s wife was reportedly injured several times during the incident. Sources said the family provided key information about the four terrorists they claimed to have seen in the attack.

The NIA team is said to have shown family photos of terrorists believed to be involved in the ambush. The Bora family earlier claimed they witnessed three people being shot during the attack.

Given their proximity to the incident and its potential as key witnesses, the NIA seeks any photos or videotapes that families may capture on the scene, hoping that it can help identify attackers or track their movements before the incident occurs.

The connection between Odisha residents so close to the high-profile terrorist attack has attracted national attention to Katak. It is reported that local police and central agencies are coordinating as the NIA strengthens its investigation.
