The National Bureau of Investigation (NIA) conducted a search on 16 May 2025 (NIA) at 15 locations related to the banned Khalistan terrorist Babar Karsa International (BKI) in various parts of Punjab, which was related to the shooting attacks in the police station in Gurdaspur last December.

“On Friday, the National Bureau of Investigation (NIA) ban Babar Karsa International (BKI) terrorist organization (NIA) searched 15 locations in Punjab related to a grenade attack at the Guldaspur District Police Station in December last year,” the agency said.
These searches were conducted in the Gurdaspur, Batala, Amritsar and Kapurthala areas of Punjab, causing seizures including cell phones/digital devices and documents.

“On the radar is the premise for suspects associated with U.S.-based BKI agent and gangster Harpreet Singh, Haryana,” it said.
In the United States
On April 17, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and U.S. immigration and customs law enforcement and evacuation operations arrested the “terrorist” Happy Passani in the United States, who allegedly participated in 16 terrorist attacks, including 14 grenade attacks in Punjab.
Between 2023 and 2025, the 29-year-old was accused of playing a central role in orchestrating targeted killings and extortion in Punjab and other states. The NIA announced a reward of Rs 5 lakh for grenade attacks in a house in Chandigarh in September 2024.
He went to Dubai in April 2018, returned from February 2019, and then headed to the UK in October 2020, before he moved to the United States, suspected that the Pasani had initially had ties with members of the Jaggu Bhagwanpuria gang, and he had since contacted Rinda.
In the March 2024 Chandigarh grenade attack, the NIA filed a charge against four so-called BKI agents – Rinda, Passian, Rohan Masih and Vishal Masih.
In the current case, related to a grenade attack on the Ghanie Ke Bangar Police Department (Gurdaspur), the NIA found that the person arrested for his role “acted toward the instructions of the Passani people” along with Shamsher and other assistants.
