Karnataka CM opens new regional offices and indoor stadium in Mangaluru on May 16: Dinesh Gundu Rao

Dakshina Kannada District Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao said on May 10, 2025 (May 10, 2025) that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will open on May 16 at Padil’s New District Office and the state-of-the-art indoor stadium at URVA.

Mr. Law spoke to reporters after a meeting to review preparations for both activities, and he said the new district office complex is expected to greatly improve the services of government services to people. The minister said the government could also be simplified by bringing important district-level offices down to a roof.

During the formal inauguration plan, Mr. Siddaramaiah will distribute the lease certificate records (RTC) to more than 7,000 beneficiaries under the “Phodi-Mukta Abhiyana” conducted in the area to develop relevant to the correct land records. Darkasth He added.

Mr Rao pointed out that Mr Siddaramaiah was the foundation of the regional office complex when he served as Chief Minister during his first term. Although the complex was estimated to cost Rs 55 crore, the complex opened long ago but its construction was delayed and required an additional Rs 20 crore expenditure. He added that the additional expenses are borne by Mangaluru Smart City Ltd.

The minister said the new complex reflects the government’s commitment to effective service delivery and citizen-centered services. He said the complex will accommodate 23 departments under one roof.

Mr Rao said MSCL’s URVA Indoor Stadium is built for Rs 350 crore and is equipped with modern facilities for a variety of sports and indoor activities. He said the stadium is expected to promote a sporting culture and provide high-quality training infrastructure to local talents.

The day after the inauguration, the identified office will be transferred to the new district office complex, and the process will be completed in about three weeks.

Mr. Siddaramaiah is expected to launch multiple development plans for Ullal Taluk during his visit. However, Mangaluru MLA and Legislative Assembly Speaker Ut Khader hope to move the event to another day.
