NIPAH: 8 suspected cases tested negative, patient status remains critical

Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala government said on Saturday that eight more people were in contact with patients infected with Nipah virus in the Malappuram area and tested negative for the disease. However, state health secretary Veena George said in a statement that despite the infected patients receiving a dose of monoclonal antibodies on Friday, they remained in critical condition. Another dose will be administered to patients on Saturday, she said.
