The Delhi High Court ended the case after learning that BJP MP Nisikant Dubey had deleted his alleged defamatory social media post against Losab Sabha MP MP Mahua Moitra.
Mr. Dolby’s lawyers said Justice Manmeet Pritam Singh Arora dealt with Ms. Moytra’s interim request after the controversial Facebook post was deleted.
Defense attorney Jai Anant Dehadrai, who also posted a tweet against Ms. Moitra on social media, appeared in court and promised to remove it from the X handle.
In view of the defendant 1 [Nishikant Dubey] Another post has been deleted from Facebook, the defendant 2 [Jai Anant Dehadrai] Has promised to remove the impaired position from X, the relief sought in this application cannot be considered. The application is disposed of here,” the court said in a May 9 order.
Ms Moitra claimed Mr Dubey’s Facebook post and Mr Dehadrai’s tweet on X were wronged and posted a tweet from Mr Dubey’s tweet on Mr Dubey’s post. The content is related to the CBI case involving Ms. Moitra in Lokpal, India.
Mr. Dolby’s lawyers said the position was based on Lokpal’s judgment on his complaint against Ms. Mutra. His lawyer argued that Ms Mutra’s comments inspired BJP leaders by using derogatory words and phrases with Innuendos. Ms. Moitra’s attorney clarified that the offensive words used in the comments or any part of the plaintiff’s on his social media handle had nothing to do with Mr. Dolby.
The court recorded her statement and said she was subjected to the same attitude.
Fresh request
Ms. Mutra filed a new plea in a 2023 lawsuit against Mr. Durby and Mr. DeHadra, which is against her false and defamatory allegations, demanding her bribes for Parliament.
Mr. Dolby accused Ms. Moitra of bribing businessman and Hiranandani Group CEO Darshan Hiranandani, asking questions in Parliament.
Mr. Dolby, citing a letter he received from defense attorney Mr. Dehadrai, said the latter was “irrefutable” with him evidence that the bribes were allegedly paid to the TMC leaders by merchants.
Based on these allegations, the Lozaba Ethics Committee recommended that Ms. Mutra be withdrawn from the House of Commons, which was expelled on December 8, 2023.
In the lawsuit, Ms. Mutra attempted to restrict Mr. Durby and Mr. DeHadra from posting or posting any “false defamatory content” to her on any online or offline platform. She also sought public apology from them.
