Nita Ambani, founder and chairman of Reliance Foundation, delivered an inspiring speech on “Integrating Indian Culture into the World” on the second day of the ongoing World Audio and Visual Entertainment Summit (WAVES). She highlights the “strong” Indian legends that can shape “who do we become”.

“Let our Amar Chitra Kathas be the next Harry potter. Let our epic – Ramayana and Mahabharata – light up the silver screen of the world. Let our stories inspire our stories… because culture not only reflects who we are. In fact, it's a powerful tool for who we are.”

Waves is a summit that combines creativity and technology with integrations of digital media, games, movies, OTT, AI, AI, Broadcasting and more to make it a platform to showcase India’s potential in media and entertainment. Its goal is to become a $50 billion market by 2029 to have a consistent foothold in the world's entertainment economy.

India is “eternal civilization”

Nita Ambani, in praising India’s rich culture, called it “eternal civilization”, which gave humanity and the world with the ideals of truth, nonviolence, unity and peace. “We are an eternal civilization that empowers mankind with the lasting ideals of truth, nonviolence, unity and peace. A glowing country that gives the world the wisdom of the Vedas, bhagavad gita, and the statue of Gaita Buddha and the teachings of Mahat Gandhi.

Nita Ambani also highlights the powerful combination of India's “sacred tradition” and “modern dynamics”. “We are a country rich in wisdom of its civilization, but equally dynamically driven by the world's youngest population. The sacred tradition of this country meets in modern dynamics with perfect harmony, and the rising power of our economy soon becomes the third largest world in the world, meeting our soaring global soft power.”
