Rajasthan Royals (RR) on Thursday named South African batting inning Lhuan-Dre Pretorius as the replacement of injured Nitish Rana, the rest of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The news was made through an IPL media statement, which was published on IPL media as the team continued to work hard and was struggling within the scope of just three wins and Nine losses. Pretorius will join the royal family at a base price of Rs 3 million.

Rana made her debut in 11 RR games this season with an average score of 21.70 and a strike rate of nearly 162.

Pretorius has competed in 33 T20 games so far, with his 911 running average of 27.60. His strike rate was 147.17, his batting rate reached six peninsulas, and his best score was 97. His average is 57.40 and his strike rate is 94.09, which includes the 350s and 76 points.

Pretorius is also no stranger to the Royals' setup. He played for their sister franchise Paarl Royals in the South African SA20 League. In the 2025 season, he finished the team's top scorer with 397 runs in 12 games. He averaged 33.08, with an impressive strike rate of 166.80. He also registered for three and a half centuries, 97 of which were his best efforts.
The next fixture for Rajasthan Royals is scheduled to face Chennai Super Kings' Chepauk Stadium on May 12.
