Nizamabad tightens the curb before Barkreid

Nizamabad: With the Bakrid program on June 7, the regional administration has taken strengthening measures to curb illegal transport and massacre of animals. The special checkpoint will be established on the interstate border between Telangana and Maharashtra, located in Kandakurthi, Salura, Pothangal and Khandgaon. Checkpoints between other regions will be set up in Satapur, Yamcha, Indalwai, Ummeda, Jannepally and Mamidiplyly.
Authorities said the ban on the Cattle Slaughter and Animal Protection Act of 1977 will be strictly enforced in the region. Awareness driver will also be held to make the public sensitive to the legal and moral significance of cattle slaughter and unauthorized animal transport. The Income and Police Department will coordinate these issues to prevent legal and order issues in the area.
The integrated regional office complex, chaired by regional collector Rajiv Gandhi Hanumanthu, held a regional coordination meeting. Commissioner P. Sai Chaitanya, additional collector Ankit, Bodhan sub-collector Vikas Mahatho, RDOS, ACP and other officials attended the meeting. They discussed preventive measures for illegal animal transport and preventive measures for slaughtering cattle.
Collectors and CP stress that animals can only be slaughtered in authorized slaughterhouses and must be certified by the veterinary department. They said vehicles and animals involved in illegal transport or slaughtering of cattle will be caught. They urged the public to report any violations related to illegal transport or slaughter of dairy cows.
