Forest Minister AK Saseendran criticized the trend of maintaining personal hygiene between Keralites on April 5, while ignoring the cleanliness of the surrounding environment. He appreciates the role played by local agencies in ensuring that the entire region is completely clean and encourages them to maintain their status.
70 Grama Panchayats, seven municipalities and Kozhikode Corporation announced themselves as garbage-free local agencies on March 30, while 12 blocks Panchayats issued a declaration on April 3.
