After three days of escalating cross-border fires, heavy shelling, missile strikes and drone wars, guns silenced the guns, starting at 5 p.m. The ceasefire was reportedly conducted through direct intervention by President Trump. Shortly thereafter, the U.S. Secretary of State said in an official statement that the two neighbors “agree to start negotiations on a wide range of issues in neutral locations.”

Sources from the Indian government quickly contradicted it, saying: “There is no decision to hold talks with Pakistan anywhere else (with Pakistan).

Foreign Minister Vikram Misri said the first step to reaching a breakthrough began after the Director-General of Pakistan’s Military Operations called his Indian counterparts. He added that the armed forces had “appropriate and appropriate responses” to violations of Pakistan and urged Islamabad to resolve these violations.

The understanding achieved between the two countries is to “stop all military operations on land and air and oceans” from 5 p.m., and DGMO plans to speak again at noon on Monday. “The shutdowns and military operations between India and Pakistan have stopped between the two countries,” government sources said in the evening.

He added: “We call on Pakistan to take appropriate measures to address these violations and to deal with the situation with serious and accountable responsibility. Officials said the Indian Army and Border Security Forces (BSF) are responding proportionally. Cross-border shootings were reportedly taken in the Akhnoor and Rajouri departments of the LoC and RS Pura and Palanwalla departments of IB.
