Telangana’s industrial sector creates more work for women than men

Hyderabad: According to the Regular Labor Force Survey 2023-24, the state’s industrial sector employs more female workers than male workers.

The industrial sector provides 22.75% of employment in the state. Among them, manufacturing contributed 47.6%, followed by construction, which is the main contributor to the industrial field. The mining and quarrying sector was 12.33%, while electricity and utilities contributed 11%.

According to the socio-economic survey released at the conference, the total state value-added (GSVA) ​​of the industrial sector in Telangana is Rs 2,77,270 crore, contributing 18.70% to the total GSVA.

According to the latest data as of February this year, the regions with the largest number of approvals for establishing business units are Medchal-Malkajgiri (20.99%), Sangareddy (8.63%) and Rangareddy (7.39%). Investing in the wise Rangareddy (19.80%), Sangareddy (16.71%) and Mahabubnagar (13%) regions have the highest records in the state and employment generation, Sangareddy (22.20%) (22.20%), Medchal-Medchal-Malkajgiri (18.80%) and Rangareddy (16.80%) (16.80%)

Over the past 14 months, the life sciences field in the state has witnessed investments of Rs 15 billion, over Rs 15 billion, life science projects, creating 51,000 direct jobs and an estimated 1,50,000 indirect jobs. The mining industry in the state has revenue of Rs 2,874 crore in 2024-25, with a target of Rs 2,208 crore as of December 2024.
