In old Tamil films, shots that build Madras as a location are often centered around Chennai Central Station or the LIC Building. The Egmore Station seems to be lost in the big shadows caused by these two historic buildings. Egmore’s gateway to southern Tamil Nadu is a name related to the place where it exists, with its charm. The red stone historical exterior, unlike the tower that emphasizes the central, with a mild dome-style roof, seems unique.
Egmore is like a friendly neighborhood lad, while Central is the big one. But Egmore was and was special. At that time, it had a long line, both for long distances and for suburbs. The last meter-kong electric train in 2004 drove out of this station, and 21 years later, there is still a desire for those ancient Madras era.
Memory Millerstone
For readers of a certain year, the site is likely to be the memory of the Pandian Express’s trip to Kodaikanal Milestone. Then a Mir-coded train heads to Madurai and stops on Dawn Kodai Road to help the honeymoon couple and lively university groups find their way up the hills, Pandian Express is filled with hope and history in the coaching.
Since the compartment has limited width due to the size limitation, the side low berth and upper berth are not present. Instead, there is this passage that is often seen naughty college lads forming their own trains, holding each other’s shirt tails, and crossing these gaps before the conductor and the seniors tell the boys to fall.
Then Egmore also has an exclusive platform that allows cars. Striking from the car and entering the compartment is the height of style. Currently, the facility does not exist due to the addition of more platforms.
For the movie’s role, this is a memorial to the Raja Rajadhi Raja Indha Raja song canned in the station. The Agni Natchathiram number adjusted by Ilaiyaraaja is dancing on the stairs with Karthik, and the young Prabhu Deva is also seen in the backstage.
Your own terminology
Meanwhile, on suburban electrical trains, commuters and university residents compete for space, with lots of jokes and laughter, especially in the morning. Students heading to Loyola, Pachaiyappas or Madras Christian College, to name just a few.
In a city obsessed with cinemas and cricket, it’s easy to hear impromptu comments about new Tamil films, or how two young men named Rahul Dravid and S. Sharath are prolific in the Madras League. The railroad tracks may be narrow in width, but the memory is still wide.
