“Nothing too serious, just a joke”: Travis’s verbal spit with Glenn Maxwell and Marcus Stoney

After the completion of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 encounter against Punjab Kings (PBKS), Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) opener Travis Head opened up and shared his thoughts on the verbal spat between him and Glenn Maxwell and Marcus Stoinis during the ninth over of the 27th fixture of the ongoing 18th edition of the cash-rich league.

Glenn Maxwell was attacked during the ninth inning. In the third and fourth delivery above, the head hit Maxwell twice in a row, which frustrated him.

After two sixes, Maxwell exchanged a few words with Hyderabad’s opening match. After the end, Head walked up to Maxwell and responded, triggering a fierce verbal exchange between the two. This situation escalated until the on-site referee stepped in to finish spitting. Not long after, Australian and Punjab Kings all-around Marcus Stoinis joined the game and was seen having a new argument with the head.
“When you know them very well, you bring the best, worst situations, and it’s nothing too serious, just a joke,” the 31-year-old said in a post-game speech at the Speech Exchange.

“It’s not bad, and it’s great to be on the winners list. It’s a really great night; we need it. We cut the work halfway. We gave ourselves a chance, showed more patience in the beginning, we knew the plans they were going to bring. Give ourselves more time. We’ve done a good thing over the past year. Set the stage.

In the competition, PBK won the competition and chose the bat. Priyansh Arya (36 out of 13 goals, 2 quarters and 4 sixths) and Prabhsimran Singh (42 out of 23 goals, 23 out of 23 goals, 7 quarters and 6) played a 66-shot stance between Priyansh Arya. Later, Captain Shreyas Iyer spent half a century (82 out of 36 balls, 6 quarters and 6 sixes), while Marcus Stoinis (34 out of 11 balls, 4 out of 11 balls, 4 out of 4 sixes, 4 out of 4 sixes), 245/6 to 245/6, harshal Patel (4/42) and Eshan Mallinga (4/42) and 2/4-2/4-5 246 runs, Abhishek (141 55 balls, 14 fours and 10 sixes) and Travis Head (37 out of 66 balls, 9 quarters and 3 sixths) and started with a 171-RUN partnership. After being fired, Abishek continued to be angry, while Heinrich Klaasen (21*) and Ishan Kishan (9*) made some final touches to catch up with the mammoth.

This is also the second highest pursuit in IPL history. Last year, PBK chased 262 PBK against defending champion Kolkata Cavalier Riders (KKR). SRH finished eighth with two wins and four losses, while PBK ranked sixth with three points and two losses.
