NSA Ajit Doval tells Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi: “War is not India’s choice”

After the Pahargam attack, China supported peace talks between India and Pakistan and urged the two countries to avoid escalation and maintain regional stability.
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and India’s national security adviser Ajit Doval spoke in telephone conversations amid growing regional tensions after India’s recent counter-terrorism actions. On the phone, Doval told the king that the Pahargam terrorist attack that killed several Indian personnel left India with no choice but to respond. He said India’s actions were part of its counter-terrorism efforts aimed at launching a war. Doval also added that the war was not in India’s interest and both India and Pakistan must work to restore peace and maintain a ceasefire.

In response, Wang Yi strongly condemned the Pahalgam terrorist attack and said China opposed all forms of terrorism. He stressed that peace and stability in Asia have been highly victorious and should be retained. The king reminded India and Pakistan not only to each other’s neighbors, but to China, and urged the two countries to remain calm and avoid further conflict. China hopes that the two sides can resolve the problem through dialogue and achieve a long-term ceasefire.
