NTA logo 106 channel 1,500 “Leak” prompt

New Delhi: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has traced 106 Telegram channels and 16 Instagram accounts to false claims suspected of touting the leak of problem paper, senior officials said, ahead of the National Qualification Part-time Test (NEET) (Undergraduate) on May 4.

The channel was reported through the NTA’s weekly suspicious claims reporting, which has recorded over 1,500 tips on leaks from medical import paper in 2025. Details of this account have been forwarded to the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) under the Ministry of Home Affairs for investigation and prosecution.

An official added that the NTA also asked Telegram and Instagram to cancel the groups immediately and share administrator details with law enforcement agencies to prevent panic among aspiring people of Rs 23 crore. ”

The Education Department has begun statewide meetings with district sheriffs and police departments to fill the safety gap that surfaced in 2024, when paper leaks allegedly forced UGC-NET and two other entrance tests to cancel paper leaks. New measures in NEET-ug 2025 include: police deferred problem documents, multi-layer planning by local police, surveillance of coaching centers to detect organized cheating rackets.

Last year the center established an advanced panel to ensure “transparent, smooth and fair” behavior for all NTA exams. The CBI investigation into previous irregularities is still underway.
