Kakinada: East Godavari Regional Police detained former Lok Sabha member GV Harsha Kumar on Saturday and released him that night. Harsha Kumar called for a candle gathering to express concerns about the death of pastor Praveen Kumar and urged Christians to gather at the place where Pastor Praveen Kumar died. Many Christians from various regions gathered in Rajamahendravaram on Saturday.

Police detained Harsha Kumar in the afternoon. After Harsha Kumar was released, he expressed anger at the police’s actions and pointed out that they brought him to a jeep and drove around the city for five hours, causing unnecessary trouble. He claims the plan he organized was successful. Harsha Kumar further commented that the YSRC government led by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is much better than the current coalition government. He criticized the coalition government for releasing Rs 300 crore to the pastor, indicating that they were trying to divert their attention from the death of Praveen Kumar.

He also noted that when Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu was imprisoned, he comforted HRD Minister N. Lokesh, but both the father and son forgot it. He noted that Naidu was celebrating his birthday abroad, not in the state.

Meanwhile, a large-scale candle gathering was held at the place where Pastor Praveen Kumar died and raised a slogan to demand the immediate release of Harsha Kumar. They also expressed condolences for the death of Pastor Praveen Kumar.
