Official death to Hyderabad Gulzar Houz, unknown: Pannan

Telangana chief minister Ponnam Prabhakar said 17 people were trapped in a fire near the former residence of Gurzar, Hyderabad, on the morning of Sunday (May 18, 2025). The official death toll is not known yet. Four joint families live in the building. Mr. Prabakar, who arrived at the scene, said the short circuit was the cause of the fire.

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy spoke with his family there and assured them that all those trapped in the fire would be rescued. He directed Y. Nagi Reddy, Director General of the Fire Department, to closely monitor rescue efforts and officials to take all necessary measures to save families trapped in the fire. The Chief Minister asked the fire department and the police department about the steps being taken.

Union Minister and Telangana BJP President G. Kishan Reddy also arrived at the scene and discussed with senior officials about the rescue and rescue operations and urged them to provide immediate medical support and assistance.

“The Indian government will provide the necessary support and assistance. I ask the state government to take all necessary precautions, including fire safety audits of buildings, to avoid such misfortunes in the future. My heartfelt condolences to those who died in this accident and to the rapid recovery of the injured,” he posted on x.
