To eliminate recommendation-based transfers, Sharan Prakash Patil, Minister of Medical Education and Skills Development, announced that all general transfers in the Skills Development Department will be conducted through the consulting process.
At a department review meeting on Friday, Dr. Patil directed Ekroop Caur, secretary of the Skills Development Department, to draft comprehensive guidelines for the new system, with special attention to the Employment and Training Department, which has one of the department’s largest staff bases.
He reminded the state government that June 16 has been set as the deadline for general transfers for government employees and officials.
Dr. Patil criticized senior officials in the department for failing to effectively implement the government plan. He instructed the secretary to issue a notice of the reason for the performance and transferred the relevant officials without delay.
Dr. Patil directs institutions such as the Government Tool Room and Training Centre, the German Technical Training Institute of Karnataka, and the Department of National Livelihoods, to participate in short- and long-term skills development programs by applying applicants to the Yuva Nidhi Program and Udyoga Melas (Work Expo).
In another meeting, Dr. Patil urged medical school directors to comply with the National Medical Council guidelines and accelerate the filling of positions of assistant professors and senior resident.
He directed all government medical schools to apply for approval within one month to launch the Allied Health Sciences course aimed at expanding health care education in the state.
