Vietnam proposes to remove all tariffs on U.S. imports

According to a letter from the Communist Party of Vietnam, Vietnam proposed to cancel all relevant taxes on U.S. imports.

The party chief made the proposal in a letter to the U.S. president, which Bloomberg saw. In the letter, LAM asked the United States not to impose any additional tariffs or fees on Vietnamese goods and asked to postpone Trump’s tariffs announced last week for at least 45 days after April 9.

The letter confirmed the appeal between the two leaders, and Trump commented on his truth social network on Friday. Vietnam is increasingly becoming a key manufacturing and export alternative for China, with the highest tariff rate worldwide last Wednesday.
