Omar Abdullah says

Jamu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said on Wednesday that the NH 44 connected to Srinagar and Jamu had reconnected traffic in one direction after the terrorist attack killed 28 people in Pahargam. Several tourists are seeking to leave the valley.

The expressway closed earlier due to landslides after the explosion in the clouds in the area, leaving a few vehicles left. Abdullah said in an article on X that he had directed the tour vehicle to leave, adding that the vehicle movement would be carried out in a controlled manner.

“We were seen seeing our guests from the Exodus from the valley after a tragic terrorist attack in Pahalgam yesterday, but at the same time, we fully understand why people were leaving. The action between Srinagar & Jammu was carried out in a single direction as the DGCA and the Ministry of Civil Aviation worked to organize additional flights. Tourist vehicles were allowed to leave.

Aviation regulator DGCA also requires airlines to increase the number of flights from Srinagar to promote the return of tourists Pahalgam terrorist attack. In addition, the Civil Aviation Administration (DGCA) has asked the carrier to consider waive the cancellation and rescheduling fees for the Srinagar flight ticket.

The Ministry of Civil Aviation also asked airlines to ensure that no air tickets emerge on the routes in Srinagar.
Meanwhile, airlines including Air India and Indigo will have a total of four more flights from Srinagar to Delhi and Mumbai on Wednesday.
“In view of the current situation, Air India will have two other flights from Srinagar to Delhi and Mumbai on Wednesday, April 23,” Air India said in an article on X (formerly known as Twitter).
Additionally, an Indigo official told PTI that it will have two other flights from Srinagar to Delhi and Mumbai on Wednesday.
