On May 11, Dharamsala’s IPL fixtures were moved to Ahmedabad

New Delhi: The IPL match between the Punjab King and the Mumbai Indians, scheduled for May 11 in Dharamsala, was transferred to Ahmedabad after the closure of the anti-terrorism infrastructure in Pakistan. The game will be played in the afternoon.
Patel said: “The BCCI asked us, we accepted it. The Mumbai Indians arrived later today and the travel plans of the Punjab king will be known later.”
The King of Punjab played the Delhi capital in Dharamsala on Thursday.
Dharamsala Airport, at least after India’s military strike on terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan, remained closed until at least May 10, with Pakistan occupying Jamu and Kashmir in retaliation for the April 22 terrorist attack on Pahargam.
How the King of Punjab and the Delhi capital was transported from Dharamsala, closing the flight operation in the picturesque town remains to be seen. With Chandigarh Airport also closed, the team needed to find a way to get to Delhi.
Like the Punjab King, the Delhi capital is also scheduled to play against the Gujarat Giants at home on May 11.
A Punjab Kings official said BCCI has not informed the franchise for the venue change.
“We haven’t heard it from BCCI. Once we’re fully clear, we can only figure out the travel plan.”
The Punjab Kings will of course play their first IPL playoffs since 2014.
