Opposition leader in Kerala directs Pope Francis’ death

VD Satheesan, leader of the Kerala opposition, described Pope Francis as “a prophet of love and compassion in the 21st century”.

Satheesan said in his condolences on Monday that the message of Pope Francis’ love and compassion for Jesus Christ was unshakable. He believed that the teachings of Christ would liberate humanity. The Pope embraced the poor, the disenfranchised and marginalized.

Mr Satheesan said the pope called sexual minorities, especially the LGBTQ community, the children of God. In Easter Sunday prayers, the pope recalled the suffering and tears of those who suffered the war in Gaza.
