Orissa man bitten by cobra to the hospital with snake in hand

Bhubaneswar: In a shocking incident in Udala, Mayurbhanj district of Odisha, a man bitten by a cobra not only sent himself to the hospital, but also brought in a lifeless snake.
The man was identified as Ajit Karmakar in the Nagpal Village within the Udala Police Station and bites three or four times on Saturday by the toxic reptile outside his home. Ajit was startled and showed pain – after stuffing his body into a plastic bag, he killed the snake, killed the snake.
Despite showing severe toxicity symptoms, including bleeding and dilated students in the bite wound, Ajit arrived at the hospital with the snake’s body in his hand. Hospital staff were surprised when presenting a dead cobra, which proved to be essential for identifying the venom type and managing the right treatment.
“We noticed the sharp mark and confirmed the snake bite. The patient had obvious bleeding at the bite site and other obvious neurotoxic symptoms. Since he brought the snake on, we immediately identified it as a cobra and managed appropriate anti-venom,” said Dr. Rajkumar Nayak of Udala Medical.
Ajit’s condition was considered crucial and after receiving emergency treatment, he was transferred to Baripada for advanced care. Hospital sources reported that his condition was still serious, but the snake’s rapid identification may have saved his life.
The incident shocked the local community, and many praised Ajit’s excellent thoughts even in the face of danger.
