Our goal is to train 3,000 volunteers: Chandigarh DC Nishant Yadav laud Senior volunteers amid tensions with Pakistan

Amid escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, Chandigarh Deputy Director Nishant Yadav said on Saturday that the government is conducting voluntary training and admission camps for civil defense volunteers at the Tagore Theatre.“We are doing voluntary training and admission camps for civil defense volunteers for Tagore Theatre. People responded really well. We have more than 1,000 people registered. They are being trained at Tagore Theatre.”
He said another venue has been established due to the high turnout. Yadav added: “There are a lot of people coming out. So we have sent the rest to Tiranga Park to the second camp. The second batch of civil defense training will begin soon.”
The deputy commissioner said they hope to register 3,000 volunteers by the end of the day.

“Through the responses we have received, we hope to train and register 3,000 civil defense volunteers today…”


Yadav also said that such training programs can continue if there is sufficient demand. He added: “If people have enough capacity, we can use it as a routine practice. The NDRF team also provides training, the Red Cross provides first aid training. In addition, physical exercise training is also provided. Added.

Earlier today, young people gathered in Chandigarh in large numbers after a local announcement called on civil defense volunteers.

“We are here to serve the country. We have filled the form (for volunteers)” said Parambir Singh, a resident of Chandigarh.

Another local, Sanjana Arora, stressed that they all wanted to help the Indian army and respond to Pakistan’s “continuous provocation”.

“We are called here by the government and it’s incredible to see such a large number of young people vote. There are many young people coming together today to express support for India and our armed forces. The energy here is excellent, and even those who usually don’t get up early have a lot of them.

Sources told ANI that earlier, India launched a retaliatory strike immediately after Pakistan attacked 26 locations in India on Saturday. Intermittent shooting is still taking place along the Line of Control (LOC).

Indian strikes hit at least four air bases in Pakistan early on Saturday as tensions continued to escalate, government sources said.
