U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio will urge his Indian and Pakistani counterparts not to escalate.
“We are in contact with both sides and of course we should tell them not to escalate the situation,” State Department spokeswoman Tammy Bruce told reporters.
“The Secretary hopes to talk to the foreign ministers of Pakistan and India as early as today or tomorrow,” she said.
“He encouraged other leaders and other foreign ministers to engage with the country on this issue,” she said.
