Pahalgam Terror Attack: No Fireworks, Cheerleaders in MI vs. SRH IPL Game

Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians players will wear black armbands in the IPL match, which will not call cheerleaders and fireworks here on Wednesday (23 April 2025) to mourn the victims of the Pahalgam terrorist attack that caused 26 deaths.

The team will also observe a minute of silence to pay tribute to those affected by the events of international condemnation.

A BCCI source told PTI: “Players on both teams will wear black armbands and observe a minute of silence to honor all those who died in the Pahalgam terrorist attack in Kashmir.”

He added: “As a sign of respect, there will be no cheerleading on the side bets of Mi vs SRH games.

Terrorists opened fire on civilians at a popular tourist site in southern Kashmir on Tuesday, killing at least 26 people and injuring several others.

The Resistance Front (TRF) is part of the terrorist group banned by Pakistan, Lashkar-e-Taiba (Let) claiming to be responsible for the attack. The attack was strongly condemned by the whole world.

Indian cricket teams snapped up bilateral cricket with Pakistan after the 2008 Mumbai terrorist attack, and recently refused to visit the country’s championship trophy, prompting the ICC to prepare for a neutral position in Dubai.
