People gathered in the room were talking about the mortal remains of Manjunath Rao reaching Shivamogga, while his elderly mother Sumathi struggled to digest the hard truth.

Manjunath Rao’s relatives heard about his death at around 3pm on April 22. However, relatives avoid notifying his mother of death and ensure that the TV is still turned off. She felt that something was wrong because there was an increase in the number of people visiting the place.

The elected deputies and police officers arrived at the place, which raised concerns about the safety of her son and family who left in Jamu and Kashmir. She asked her relatives around her if everything was fine and asked when Manju and his family would return.

Family is celebrating son Cleanup II PU exam

Real estate agent Manjunath is the only child of Sumathi who lost her husband two years ago. Her daughter lives in Tirtahali. Relatives wait till evening so that her daughter can get to the place and communicate the news to her mother. Only after the old woman had supper did she know about this tragic incident.

Manjunath traveled on April 19 with his wife Pallavi R. (working at the Malnad Regional Marketing Cooperative) and his 18-year-old son Abhijan. They are celebrating as Abhijan cleared II PUC to acquire 97% of its shares in the commercial stream.

They shared photos and video footage when they visited different places in the Kashmir Valley before arriving at Pahalgam. Hours before the terrorist attack, Manjunath called one of his uncles by phone to convey his wishes on the anniversary of his marriage. They plan to return on April 24. But terrorists turned the celebration into a tragedy.

Manjunath Rao’s mother-in-law Geetha, still shocked by the tragic death, wondered why the Indian government allowed tourists to visit Kashmir if the place was not safe for tourists. “We told him not to go because Kashmir is famous for harassment. However, he insisted that many people have been visiting the place in recent days and think that the valley is now accessible. We feel he should listen to us,” she added. “The government should take enough measures for the safety of tourists.”

“If the government cannot protect them, why would the government allow tourists?”

“Why can’t the government protect them, why are tourists allowed to protect them? In the previous terrorist attacks, the central government assured people that people will ensure peace and take strong measures to avoid such incidents. But the government has failed to protect its blame now.”

School Education Minister Madhu Bangarappa, also the minister in charge of Shivamogga, met with his family and expressed his condolences. He told Sumathi and other family members that the government would stand with them and make the necessary arrangements to bring Manjunath’s deadly remains to Shivamogga. He told Mediapersons that the body of mortals will arrive in Shivamogga in the early morning of April 24.

Former Minister Kimmane Ratnakar also met the family. He believes that when such incidents occur, the state should unite and put pressure on the Indian government to avoid terrorist attacks in Kashmir in the future.
