Pak after Pahalgam attack? India sees connection to Parker Army Chief Asim Munir’s “Kashmir jugular vein”

Indian intelligence officials are looking into whether the recent speech by Pakistan Army Chief President Asim Munir is a catalyst for deadly terrorist attacks in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which coincides with the visit of U.S. Vice President JD Vance. In that speech, Munir described Kashmir as Pakistan’s “jugate vein”, a statement now under scrutiny for its impact on the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LET) agent group, the Resistance Front (TRF), which claims responsibility for the strike.

Munier’s remarks and his concerns about “differential treatment” for Muslims and Hindus may have inspired armed groups, according to multiple intelligence officials familiar with the ongoing assessment. “It seems that the attackers arrived a few days before the attack, conducted reconnaissance and then attacked when they saw the opportunity,” a source said in a TOI report. “In early April (1-7), there was an input opinion that the terrorists had reconnaissanced some hotels. So, there was no intelligence failure.”

Victims based on religious identity

Six attackers reportedly carried out coordinated attacks with the support of local auxiliary agencies. The fearful claim has already emerged that victims are forced to recite the Islamic faith professional Kalma. Those who failed were shot dead on the spot.

Among the key suspects, Jean Commander Saifullah Kasuri (also known as Khalid). Smart input also indicates that two Rawalkot-based LET handlers, including a man identified as Abu Musa.

On April 18, Musa held a rally in Rawalkot, where he publicly acknowledged the violence, claiming: “The jihad will continue and guns will continue in Kashmir. Please read also: Is Pakistan trying to incite unrest in India with Kashmir, Hindus says it is the burning of Bal Luchistan?

Intelligence links rhetoric to the rise of radicalism

The incident is not isolated, but is part of a broader ideological revival in Pakistan that is consistent with the increase in radical activity. Intelligence assessments show that anti-Indian rhetoric may have been part of a coordinated strategy to assemble Pakistani terrorists and sparked an attack on Indian-managed Kashmir in protests.

As the investigation continues, officials are analyzing whether the timing and intensity of the Pahalgam attack was deliberately chosen to make political and ideological statements on high-profile international visits.

Speech that raises red flags

General Munier’s remarks came at an overseas Pakistan conference in Islamabad. “You have to tell your children the story of Pakistan so that they will not forget when our ancestors thought we were different from Hindus in every possible aspect of life,” he said.

He added: “Our religions are different, our customs are different, our traditions are different, our ideas are different, our ambitions are different, and this is the basis of the theory of two countries. We are two countries, we are not the same country.”

The Prime Minister of Pakistan also attended the meeting in his speech. Munir stressed the importance of remembering the sacrifices to the formation of the nation. “Our ancestors, they sacrificed a lot, we made a lot of sacrifices to create this country, and we know how to defend it,” he said.

The revival of theories of the two countries

Munir’s speech is a strong recognition of the theory of the two countries, and historically believes that Muslims and Hindus on the Indian subcontinent are different countries. “Please don’t forget the story of Pakistan, don’t forget to convey this story about Pakistan to your next generation so that their connection with Pakistan will never weaken, whether it’s the third or fourth or fifth generation, they know what Pakistan is for them,” Murnier told the audience.

Analysts say this ideological framework has the potential to strengthen public lines and intensify tensions in an already prone region. Indian officials viewed the timing of such a statement as accidental.

In addition to Kashmir, Munir has addressed internal security challenges, especially in Bal Luzhi Province. He declared: “Even ten generations of terrorists will not harm Bal Luchistan and Pakistan.” He also praised the support and contributions of Pakistanis overseas and reaffirmed the military’s commitment to counter terrorism within the border.

But for many in Indian security agencies, Munier’s words are being read in a bloody context rather than a unified context. His speech aims to inspire national pride, but rather extremists who are increasingly bold at the border. Now, radiation is measured not only in speech, but in life lost.
