Pak shelling kills three civilians in J&K's Poonch: Officials

Srinagar: At least three residents, including a woman, were killed and six others were injured as Pakistani troops targeted India's forward position and civilian areas at several places on the Line of Control (LOC) (LOC) and Intellectual Boundary (IB), while heavy artillery was carried out in Jammu and Kashmir earlier on Wednesday. During the Pakistan strike, both defense and private property were damaged.

Officials said that after Indian armed forces carried out “operations” against nine “terrorist infrastructures” in Pakistan, Pakistani and Pakistan-occupied Jamu and Kashmir (POJK), Pakistani troops and rangers, resorted to dispatched armed shelling, including from opposite sides and from opposite sides.

The deceased were identified as the wife of Muhammad Adil of Shaheen Noor, Saleem Hussain of Altaf Hussain and Ruby Kour of Shalu singh.

A defense spokesman earlier said that nine locations in Pakistan and Poyk were completely targeted. “Our actions have been centralized, measured and non-shrinkable in nature. There are no military facilities targeting Pakistan,” he said, adding that “India showed considerable limitations in selecting targets and implementing methods. In J&K, all schools, universities and other educational institutions will be closed today (Wednesday) in various border areas of Chamu, Samba, Katua, Rajuri and Ponshi (Chamu region) and Kupwara, Balamura and Randipool regions, located in Kashmir Valley.
