The day after India announced a total ban on the import and transit of all goods originating from or exported by Pakistan, Islamabad also suspended trade as New Delhi. Islamabad announced in a communique issued by the Pakistan Ministry of Commerce that it suspended its trade practices with New Delhi.
“The federal government is pleased to prohibit the following situations for the benefit of national security, which is the public interest-1. The import of third countries to Indian goods originating through the ocean, land and air; transit through the ocean, Pakistan; commodities imported from India through Pakistan through the ocean, land and air; through Pakistan through Pakistan 3. Exports from third countries.
The move came after India's ban on direct and indirect import and transit bans on goods originating from Pakistan, effectively halting bilateral trade with neighboring countries. The ties between India and Pakistan have deteriorated significantly after the Pahalgam attacks that claimed 26 lives by Jamu and Kashmir.
“What you want will happen”
Earlier today, Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh held an event in the national capital and said: “It is his responsibility to give a suitable reply to those who dare to attack India. He also assured that “what will happen to you under Prime Minister Narendra Modi”.
Earlier, Prime Minister Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah also vowed to avenge Pahalgam's tragedy and asserted that India would look for terrorists and their supporters “at the end of the earth.”
