An official said on Tuesday (April 29, 2025) that Pakistani troops violated the ceasefire along the LOC and the ceasefire in Kashmir for the fifth consecutive night, extending the violation arc to the Akhnor area in the Jamu area.

This is Pakistan’s fifth straight night, and tensions between New Delhi and Islamabad have exacerbated unprovoked shooting (LOC) along the Line of Control (LOC) following last week’s terrorist attack in Pahalgam.

Pahalgam Attack Update: April 29, 2025

“On the evening of April 28-29, Pakistani troops resorted to the area opposite the Kupwara and Baramulla areas, as well as the unprovoked small arms of the Akhnoor department,” a defense spokesman said.

He added that the Indian army responded to the provocation in a measured and effective manner.

No casualties were reported.

From unprovoked small arms shooting, firing along several pillars in Kupwara and Baramulla areas in northern Kashmir, Pakistan expanded its ceasefire violation to the Poonch department, and subsequently expanded its operations against Akhnoor.
