The statement said that Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar directed Pakistan’s permanent representative, Ambassador Asim Iftikhar, takes immediate measures to convene a meeting of the Security Council. The decision follows tensions between Pakistan and India following the Pahargam terrorist attacks. “Pakistan will provide information to the UN Security Council on India's active actions, provocative and provocative statements,” the Foreign Ministry said.
“Pakistan will emphasize in particular the illegal actions of India to suspend the Indian waters treaty,” it said, adding that the country will clarify how New Delhi's actions endanger “peace and security” in the region.

“This important diplomatic move is part of Pakistan's efforts to present accurate facts to the international community,” it said.

Pakistan is currently a non-permanent member of the Security Council. Pakistan's envoy met with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres last week and introduced him to the security situation in the region.
