Despite the 200% import tax imposed in 2019 after the Pulwama attack greatly halted direct trade, the new directive also blocked Pakistani goods extending through third countries. The measures followed earlier India's actions, including a moratorium on the Indian waters treaty, closure of Attari land border crossings, and reduced trade with Pakakistan ties.

Meanwhile, the Pakistani army announced the successful training of the Abdali weapon system, the Abdali Gueration System, a surface-to-surface missile with a range of 450 kilometers. The exercise is designed to ensure operational preparation and validate critical technical parameters, a statement from the military said.

In New Delhi, sources familiar with the situation described missile testing as a “blatant” behavior of “provocation”.
