NWKRTC earns Rs 10.468 crore from UPI transactions, decides to open other buses at festivals

Karnataka Northwest Road Transport Corporation (NWKRTC) has expanded the UPI trading facility to passengers on buses operated by 50 warehouses and has now registered over 10 million UPI transactions.
According to a press release issued by NWKRTC Priyanga M. Managing Director, the company opened the UPI trading facility on September 1, 2023.
In addition, NWKRTC also started revenues in various parts of the company through UPI transactions in August 2024 until the collection in February 2025 was Rs 1.198 crore to 43,719 transactions.
Additional buses
Due to the Ramzan and Ugadi Festivals, NWKRTC decided to conduct 137 bus services between March 28 and March 31 to benefit passengers traveling from Bangalore to their home country in North Karnataka.
NWKRC said in a press release that Hubballi, Gadag, Belagavi, Uttara Kannada, Haveri, Chikkodi, Chikkodi and Bagalkot Divisions will operate other buses on Friday, Saturday and Sunday (March 28-30).
