Will Pakistan divide the quiet province of Balluchistan into many smaller administrative forces to eliminate the sentiment of the Balluchistan country that has been driving the separatist movement for decades? Or, will Islamabad fall on the Baloch people, especially separatist costumes like the Ballochistan People’s Liberation Army? The Pakistani Congress has suppressed the movement of the Baloch people to a single home and imposed atrocities on them as never before to destroy them?
Pakistan raised these questions after Pakistan’s Army Chief Asim Munir threatened separatist groups and vowed to suppress them. He said: “Threatening BALOCH nationalist groups such as the Balloch Liberation Army (BLA), the Balloch Liberation Front (BLF) and the Baloch Republican Party (BRA), he said: “We will defeat these terrorists soon… You think these 1500 terrorists belonging to the BLA, BLA and BRA, etc. can get out of Balochistan from us. “When he said, “Today, we will share this clear message that we will work together to remove this barrier, no matter the pathways of Pakistan’s progress.” ”
However, analysts believe this may be the tip of the iceberg. The BLA hijacked the entire train last month, and more than 250 people, including army personnel and 33 militants, were reportedly killed during the operation carried out in Bal Road Chistan. This has shaken Pakistani institutions from the inside and is now dealing with several issues.
It is believed that the Pakistani government could divide the Bal Road Branch into many smaller administrative units, all under the iron control of the central authorities so that nationalist sentiment could be slowly and gradually crushed. The divided areas may not have the sentiment of Bal Luzhi, so the nationalist movement is easily crushed.
Pakistan has learned lessons from the train hijacking incident in March 2024 and has announced a “full military operation”. They target groups such as the Bal Lu Zhi Provincial People’s Liberation Army (BLA). Pakistani troops are most likely to deploy other units, including infantry departments, paramilitary units and air support. They may get support from China, which may provide them with drones or fighters.
Military operations could focus on rebel strongholds in the southern Bal Luzhi province, while areas such as Bolan, Khuzdar or Gwadar may be targeted. Some experts believe that Islamabad may imitate China’s Xinjiang model and establish “concentration camps” for the Baloch tribe. Given the allegations of forced disappearance and repression against peace activists, it cannot be excluded.
But analysts believe that as large strategies have been used in past counterinsurgency efforts, a massive strategy could further alienate civilians and recruit fuel for groups such as the BLA.
Although some sensible voices supported the idea of taking political initiatives and meeting civil society groups such as the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC), these people were marginalized. The arrest of human rights activist Mahrung Baloch sent a strong signal. While Pakistan can still take some economic steps, such as announcing the development of infrastructure projects, if they do not trust the people of Baloch, then these steps may complicate ISSE rather than improve the situation.
So, what is the way forward? Pakistan is most likely to repeat past mistakes and further alienate its people.
