India needs to create 80 to 10 million jobs a year: Prime Minister’s Chief Secretary Mishra

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s chief secretary on Saturday PK Mishra stressed the need to create 80 to 10 million jobs in India each year, urging students to have existing technical knowledge and practical skills.

“It is necessary to create between 80 million and 10 million jobs a year. So the central government has launched programs like Digital India and Skill India to achieve this. You need technical knowledge and skills.”

He also told students that India has achieved a strong position on the global stage.
Mishra said it was a critical period not only for students, but for the country.

“Today, India is in a strong global position in economic growth, young population and strategic partnerships. As the Prime Minister envisions, the country’s growing influence will help achieve Viksit Bharat’s goal.”


Mishra said India’s digital infrastructure is getting stronger and stronger, with 8 million Internet users in the country. “The digital economy is growing. There are about 185 million UPI transactions,” he said, adding that the country is now entering the ‘Amrit Kal’ era. Mishra added: “Modi sets a goal to make the country prosperous. Everyone needs to work together to build a developed India by 2047.”

Mishra encouraged students to say, “We are struggling to tackle the tectonic shift in geopolitical consistency while witnessing technological breakthroughs at an unprecedented rate. Climate and sustainability are at the heart of this dialogue. The disruption of global supply chains, protection chains, protectionist policies, protectionist policies, land-based tensions and global trade patterns enhance this complexity.

“You have to take the initiative to shape your future and focus on achieving more milestones, which is the foundation for the solid foundation you have identified today,” he said.

A sign of happiness for the gender ratio of IIM Sambalpur – women make up 60% of MBA students – he encouraged the institute to target 80%.
