Pakistan announced the successful training release of Abdali Weapon System, a surface-to-surface missile with a range of 450 km. Tensions in India have increased following the Pahargam terrorist attacks, a move that has been escalated.

Pakistan announced on Saturday that it had successfully launched training on the Abdali weapon system, a surface-down missile with a range of 450 kilometers, which has increased tensions with India following the Pahalgam terrorist attack. “The launch is designed to ensure the operational preparation of the troops and validate key technical parameters, including the missile's advanced navigation system and enhanced operability capabilities,” the Army said in a statement.

The Army said the missile launch is part of “exercising Indian exercises” without providing details about the exercise.

The training launch was witnessed by the Army Strategic Force Commander, Strategic Planning Department, Senior Officers of the Army Strategic Force Command, and scientists and engineers from the Pakistan Strategic Force Organization.

Prime Minister Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the service head congratulated the participating troops, scientists and engineers.

They express full confidence in the operational readiness and technical level of Pakistan’s strategic forces to ensure a reliable minimum deterrence and protect national security from any aggression.
