Pakistan violates ceasefire

Government sources said on Saturday night that Pakistan violated the bilateral understanding reached this afternoon to immediately stop all shooting and military operations on land, air and oceans. This comes hours after India announced a fierce four-day strike on the cross-border drone and missiles, which left both countries crumbling on the brink of full-scale war.
Sources said that in the Aknor area of Jamu and Kashmir, Pakistan opened fire. Drones can also be seen in the Pir Panjal area.
In a surprise announcement in a social media post, U.S. President Donald Trump first made a public announcement to stop military operations in India and Pakistan, while claiming that negotiations between the two sides were “mediated” by the United States, after which “India and Pakistan agreed to a full and immediate ceasefire.”
However, the government’s top sources clearly stated that the result was a direct involvement of India and Pakistan, and Islamabad agreed that “no preconditions, no post-conditions, no links to other issues”.
In a brief announcement following Trump’s speech, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said the directors of the Indian and Pakistan military operations agreed to the understanding on a phone call this afternoon.
“The Director-General of Pakistan Military Operations was called the Director-General of India’s Military Operations in 1535 hours earlier today.”
“With their agreement, both sides will cease all shooting and military operations on land and air and sea, effective from 1,700 hours today,” he said.
